Since 1960 when Greenthumb Nursery was “seeded” by James and Ruth Cagle, three generations of Cagle family members have been engaged in the nursery’s operations. James and Ruth’s son, Robert purchased the nursery in 1980 with two partners. Greenthumb Nursery’s lead designer, Doretha Ritter joined the company in 1986 and she is now the manager of the Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance division. In 2010, Robert’s sons Kevin and Robby Cagle became the nursery’s owners.
