Distylium "Coppertone" PP# 25305 #3

Landscape & Garden Uses

Coppertone Distylium features coppery-red new foliage that matures to a cool blue green. Disease resistant and adaptable, this evergreen shrub for warm climates has become a landscape favorite as a replacement for boxwood, cherry laurel, and other shrubs that have become plagued with disease and pest issues. At 3 to 4 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, Coppertone is a great mid-size choice for landscape beds.

Growing Preferences

This adaptable evergreen shrub grows in full sun or part shade and is very tolerant of drought, heat, and wet soil. Distylium is a good alternative for boxwood, cherry laurel, holly, and juniper in foundation plantings or anywhere you want low-maintenance evergreens. Makes a great low-growing privacy hedge.
